FieldMonocle is an AI-powered educational tool. It is not a substitute for a human expert. Identification results can be completely incorrect, even if the app says it has "High Confidence."
2. Never Eat Based on This App
Do not eat, drink, smoke, brew, tincture, or medically use any wild plant, mushroom, berry, or organism based solely on this app's identification. Many deadly species look nearly identical to edible ones (e.g., Deadly Galerina vs. Honey Mushrooms, or Poison Hemlock vs. Wild Carrot).
3. Handle with Care
Some plants and insects can cause severe skin irritation, burns, or allergic reactions just by touching them (e.g., Poison Ivy, Giant Hogweed). If you do not know what it is, do not touch it with your bare hands.
4. Medical Emergencies
If you suspect poisoning or exposure to a toxic plant, mushroom, or insect, do not wait. Contact Poison Control (1-800-222-1222 in the US) or emergency services immediately.
